Color Me Mine

Color Me Mine

The artwork hyper-exaggerates the phenomenon of diversity. The crayons represent the distinct colors a person holds within themselves. Together, the work forms a world which ties together every community as a whole.

The grace of green, the anger of red, the smoothness of yellow, and the diverse symbolism of every other color, together, make different people with different backgrounds and preferences more a part of the community. This observational sketch is made in color and graphite pencils, with a black acrylic background for a dramatic contrast.

This piece helps me imagine a more peaceful world for all. I have incorporated the colors of the LGBT community rather than solely presenting the color bias between racial groups, thus unifying them. The unity, made possible by the hand which represents the society, helps every color be connected.

This artwork, similar to many others, was a part of the journey I took to self-discovery.
